Chakra
is a Sanskrit word that means wheel, or vortex. It refers to
each of the seven energy centers of which our consciousness,
our energy system, is composed.
These chakras, or energy centers,
function as pumps or valves, regulating the flow of energy through
our energy system. The functioning of the chakras reflects decisions
we make concerning how we choose to respond to conditions in
our life. We open and close these valves when we decide what
to think, and what to feel, and through which perceptual filter
we choose to experience the world around us. |
 |
The chakras are not physical. They are aspects of consciousness.
The chakras interact with the physical body through the endocrine
system and the nervous system. Each of the seven chakras is
associated with one of the seven endocrine glands, and also
with a group of nerves called a plexus. Thus, each chakra
can be associated with particular parts of the body and particular
functions within the body controlled by that plexus or that
endocrine gland associated with that chakra. Each chakra governs
the health of specific body parts and relates to a different
aspect of our lives and together they encompass the entire
human experience.
All of your senses, all of your perceptions, all of your possible
states of awareness, everything it is possible for you to
experience, can be divided into seven categories. Each category
can be associated with a particular chakra. Thus,
the chakras represent not only particular parts of your physical
body, but also particular parts of your consciousness.
Most eastern health-care practices
and philosophies have the Chakra system as their core element.
They state that each human being has seven major energy
centres running along the spine from the top of the head to
the base of the spine. Each chakra is associated with one
of the elements; earth, water, fire, air, ether, sound, light
and spirit and with qualities of being that support personal
development.

When these energy centres are balanced they allow energy to
flow freely, promoting health, vitality and harmony. However
the stress of everyday life can throw our chakras out of balance,
and they may become blocked (deficient) or overloaded (excessive).
Imbalances can produce a wide range of physical ailments and
emotional disturbances. Often these imbalances are temporary;
however they can persist, resulting in chronic illness, disease
and habitual patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. Chakra
dancing helps to rebalance this energy.
In this
part of the Ecstasy Chakra Dance you will be taken on a dynamic
dance journey through your own energy centres guided by movement,
visualization and and music related to each of the seven Chakras.
As you dance to the frequency of each Chakra different issues
will be experienced and energized.
Dancing the seven chakras is similar
to dancing into seven different worlds, each with its own
lessons, meanings and stories. During the Ecstasy Chakra
Dance sessions we will explore each chakra through movement
using a series of carefully selected dance/movement studies.
By surrendering to the music of each chakra, we dance from
the inside out and find ourselves awakening and healing ancient
hurts; expressing often for the first time long-blocked
emotions; and opening ourselves up to levels of spiritual
connection higher than we ever thought possible.
These are the results of dancing and balancing our chakras
at the Ecstasy Chakra Dance sessions:
- Our connection with our essence
or inner-self will be awaken and steady. We cleanse physical
toxins and repressed/unbalanced emotions as well as liberate
anxiety, stress and depression.
- We actively create inner vitality
and brightness, physical strength and exuberance
- The sessions allow us to tap deeper
personal power (which supports self-esteem, healthy relationships,
success in business, and the energy to discover and realize
our Essential Purpose)..etc.
